Chalet le Chapeau Bleu Bed and Breakfast
Chalet le Chapeau Bleu is situated just outside St Beat (1km) known as the Key to France because it is so close to the Spanish Border. St Beat is a traditional small Pyrenean village famous for its marble.
Bagneres de Luchon, the Queen of the Pyrenees is only 20 minutes away by car and has famous thermes (spa), beautiful avenues with restaurants, cafes and shops.
Our bed and breakfast has secure parking in the garden area for guest vehicles, a lovely terrace with garden furniture for guest use and is in a lovely secure and peaceful location only 1km from the centre of the village and only 7km from the border of Spain.
There is a large lounge with lots of comfortable seating, a log burning fire for Winter, large television with UK satellite, DVD player and Video player and we have a large selection of DVDs for you to use if you wish.
The dining area has coffee, tea and herbal teas available for guests at all times.
Breakfast is served at a time to suit guests and consists of fruit, cereal, fruit juice, yoghurt, bread, jams and marmalades, croissants, ham and cheese.
There are 5 bedrooms available. Some with double beds and private shower rooms and one has a balcony overlooking the garden. Others have twin beds and share a shower room with one other bedroom (ideal for groups and families).
We offer a 4 course evening meal with wine for guests if they wish for as few or as many nights as they wish.
If you wish to stay for 7 days you will only pay for 6 as a thank you for staying with us for longer.
The region is magnificient with mountains, flora and fauna. Often guests who rise early can see the deer as they run through the adjacent fields and hear the wild boar at night in the surrounding countryside.
We also have two apartments in the vicinity. One sleeps 4 and is in the centre of Luchon. The other sleeps 6 and is on the Col de Peyresourde 5km outside Luchon - a famous climb of the Tour de France.
In Winter most guests are interested in winter sports. Skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing etc.
In Summer there is so much to do including water sports on the river, fishing, horse-riding, parascending, local village fetes that have dancing and entertainment into the night, historical castles, churches and monuments including roman ruins.
