Built in 1771 as a whaling master's home and situated on a gentle hill only a short walk from the ferry and the town, Cliff Lodge welcomes you to discover, with heartwarming comfort, the unforgettable beauty and enchantment of this faraway island.
Looking as beautiful today as it did more than 200 years ago, this resplendent mariner's mansion offers a restful, comfortable and casual vacation experience with all the views, tastes, sounds and comforts you'll need to help you go back to the place in time when life was so much more simple. The house, listed in the National Register of Historic places, overlooks seascapes as fine as can be seen from any historic inn on the island.
The Cliff Lodge puts you into the heart of Nantucket's historical attrractions. Take a short stroll to the center of town, where you'll find the national's largest collection of eighteenth-century buildings and miles of the world's most pristine beaches.
The Inn sits on a quiet street, just a few minutes walk from fine restaurants, galleries, museums and shops. Nantucket offers visitors a wealth of cultural and recreational activities, including theater, gourmet dining, sailing excursions, tennis, golf, fishing, bicycle and moped riding, as well as ecological and historical tours. On Nantucket there is always something to do, unless you choose to do nothing at all!
Breakfast features a buffet spread that includes homemade granola, scones and other pastires, fresh fruit, cerals and breads.
The Cliff Lodge offers many cozy rooms and seating areas for guests to read, write or gather with friends, including our garden patio, our living room, library, and of course our spectacular roofwalk.
We offer air-conditioned rooms (in season), free wifi, operating fireplaces in many rooms, comfortable and romantic guest rooms, decorated with paintings by local artists, garden patio and authentic roofwalk with sweeping downtown and harbor views.
